She defines that community as those with the disorder, the professionals who work with them, the support people whose care enriches their lives and organizations that provide them resources on a national and state level. To discuss spiritual issues, opinions and beliefs of those most affected by bipolar disorders, she uses thriteen fictional stories. Each story revolves around a character with bipolar disorder. Dr. Bernard offers commentary on the story and examines a spiritual isses arising from it.
