Description
This story was inspired by Eleanor "Ellie" Foraker. Eleanor was born in Kenton, Delaware and worked at ILC Dover for 43 years. A talented seamstress and manager, Ellie was truly dedicated to the making of spacesuits. Therewas a competition to make the spacesuit for the first moon landing! Ellie was asked to lead a team of other talented seamstresses. No one believed they could win, but they were determined to try. Based on the incredible true story behind the spacesuit that astronauts wore on the first moon walk and the team of women who sewed it together.
